📢 Announcement: New Dashboard Builder Lets You Drag and Drop Your Recent Reports
HubSpot’s dashboard tool has always had a few odd quirks. One of the most annoying for anyone building multiple dashboards has been the report adding.
It’s a small friction, but needing to go into the reports tool to add each one manually, and then the report you added goes to the bottom of the dashboard? Not efficient.
The new dashboard builder (shown below) lets you drag and drop from a side panel which should make this a much more seamless process.

✅ Tip
Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.
Workflow “Analyze” and “Health” tabs
One of the most common issues I see in otherwise-healthy HubSpot accounts is workflow clutter.
Sometimes it’s benign. Workflows that don’t do anything, or don’t apply to the current business processes. They are still shown in the workflow index, and sometimes they are even still on.
However, it’s not uncommon to see workflows that really shouldn’t be on still running in the background, moving records across stages, relabeling properties, and generally running amok.
When I run an audit, I’m eventually going to look into every active workflow and take some notes about what it is meant to do and whether or not it is needed/working as intended.
BUT before that, I check the “Health” and “Analyze” tabs to see if there are any trends in enrollment or actions, or if one or multiple workflows are throwing errors.
Check it out! You might find something you’d want to address sooner rather than later.

⚠️ Trap
Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.
Don’t Auto-Generate Lead Objects
Auto-generating leads based on an event in HubSpot is one of the most powerful parts of the leads object.
BUT you need to make sure these leads aren’t auto-removed from the system. If you create a lead object and it isn’t associated with a contact, it’s going to get scrubbed and disappear.
Make sure every lead object is associated with a contact when it’s generated.

🔄 Try
Something small to test or improve this week.
Synced Properties
I have touched on this in the past, but never included it as it’s own HubSpot feature to try.
Before synced properties, a lot of really meticulous work had to be done to carry info over within an object or from object to object.
Synced properties are more reliable than workflows and allow you to carry all types of data across objects. Really comes in handy in a lot of situations. Play around with it! You’ll see a use case soon enough.
