Trap: Double Check Integrations for Marketing Contact Creation

✉️ Spotter – Your Weekly HubSpot Helper

This week, we’re clearing out the clutter, avoiding a common mistake, and giving you one quick thing to try in your portal. Let’s dive in.

Tip

Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.

Clean Up Reporting on Multi-Select Properties
Multi-select properties can be perfect for some situations, but when it comes to reporting, they are often confusing.

If you have a multi-select with 5 or fewer options, try making a workflow that maps them to a dropdown. The dropdown will have every possible combination, and then you can report on that.

⚠️ Trap

Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.

Double Check Integrations for Marketing Contact Creation
Every form has a toggle in the options settings that lets you choose if new contacts made from the form will be set to marketing.

If you use typeform or another 3rd party tool, this setting is universal to all forms you create with the integration. Find the toggle in settings under forms.

The last thing you want is to accidentally go over your marketing contacts limit and incur an auto-upgrade.

🔄 Try

Something small to test or improve this week.

Report on Linkedin Messaging Activity
If your sales team has Linkedin Sales Navigator integrated with Hubspot, you can pull their linkedin messages into your reporting as activities.

Look for the “Linkedin Message” option for the “Activity Type” property of the activities you are reporting on.
