Try: Pivot Tables in The Custom Report Builder

✉️ Spotter – Your Weekly HubSpot Helper
This week, we’re clearing out the clutter, avoiding a common mistake, and giving you one quick thing to try in your portal. Let’s dive in.
📣Announcement: Workflow Enrollments Have Changed!
This has been rolling out over the past few months, and now it’s in every account that I checked (about a dozen).
Out: Choosing and being locked in to an object when you create the workflow.
In: Choosing event-based, filter-based, manual enrollment, etc. from the get-go, and switching object without needing to make a new workflow.

✅ Tip
Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.
Integrations & The Marketing Events Object
There’s an awesome built in tool that plays well with a lot of common integrations. It’s called marketing events. If you are using Zoom Webinars, Eventbrite, or a handful of other popular plugins, it’s likely your account is already using the marketing events object.
Here’s a couple ways I have helped people leverage the marketing events object:
Associate the events to campaigns to bring more data together.
Use the event-associated contact properties like “Last event registered” to build lists and reports.

⚠️ Trap
Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.
Keep Your Reports Current with Rolling Dates
When I am building reports for a client, I always try to suss out the use case for the reports and base my time filters on that. In most cases, people want something they can check every day/week/month, and it updates to show the previous day/week/month.
That’s a rolling date. If you build a report and select “April 1 - April 30, 2025” That may work in May, but to avoid needing to update every month, find the rolling dates and select “last month”.
🔄 Try
Something small to test or improve this week.
Pivot Tables in The Custom Report Builder
One of the best ways to get a lot of related data in front of you are the pivot tables in the custom report builder. If you want to see how contact original sources are correlated with their current lifecycle stages, or the amount of associated deals they have, this tool is perfect.
Just drag up to 4 properties you want to see into the “columns” section, and up to 4 metrics you want to see into the “Values” section.
