Try: Use Conversion Events in the Hubspot Ads Tool

✉️ Spotter – Your Weekly HubSpot Helper

This week, we’re clearing out the clutter, avoiding a common mistake, and giving you one quick thing to try in your portal. Let’s dive in.

Tip

Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.

Use Lists for Better Index Views
The filters in the index tool are missing some crucial options, like the ability to filter by “has ever been” for certain contact and deal properties.

One handy way to make better custom views is to make a list first. The list builder has a lot more flexibility. Once you have that perfect mix of filters, use the “list membership” option in the index view.

⚠️ Trap

Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.

Double check workflow enrollment
Never let a workflow run without double checking what objects would be enrolled. I think the most important distinction to understand here is the difference between filter-based and event-based enrollment.

Filter-based is a great way to make a sweeping change to objects that already fall under the criteria. Event based is better for making the change instantly for future objects right when they change.

🔄 Try

Something small to test or improve this week.

Use Events in the Ads Tool
The Ad Events feature is one of Hubspot’s most underappreciated. If your business is running Meta, Linkedin, or Google ads, this tool allows you to set up conversions API without any code.

Just set the criteria you want to send back to the ad platform, and give it a few days to work its magic.

This one is gonna make your conversion tracking 1000 times easier.
