✅ Tip
Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.
Recurring Delays & Anniversaries
For a long time, setting actions in a workflow to happen on the anniversary of an event was a pain. Hubspot users were forced to set several years in advance, or create complex double workflows that triggered each other back and forth, which risks an endless loop and can be blocked by HubSpot.
Now, we have an anniversary trigger which takes care of that. See how it’s configured below.

⚠️ Trap
Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.
Distinguish company records for parent/child relationships
If you are marketing or selling to large corporate organizations, it’s usually best practice to split them by office, region, location, or department. HubSpot’s default company identifier is the domain name. This will combine all of your big company records into one based on their domain name.
There are two fixes here.
1. You can set up a new unique identifier to split these companies up. You can even use workflows to associate the companies with the default “Parent/Child” association labels (unique identifier checkbox shown below).
2. Create new properties and use their combination (domain name + location, etc.) to delineate the offices and create new company records.

Calculated property formula assistant
The syntax for calculated properties is somewhat similar to spreadsheet formulas, but it has its own quirks and eccentricities.
HubSpot’s AI is well-versed in the rules and will help you craft your calculation from a natural language prompt. You can open it up with the button that says “generate formula”.
