Tip

Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.

Globally Control Activity Associations
If you have ever gone from ticket to deal to contact to find an email that should have been on all 3 records, you’re going to want to check this out.

This little setting can make a huge difference for companies that have a lot of notes and emails going back and forth between sales opportunities, and later customers.

This allows you to set the behavior of email and note associations for the four main objects (contacts, companies, deals, tickets). For each one, you can set a behavior that will cross-associate activities to the others and same-object associations.

⚠️ Trap

Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.

Don’t Create Properties Before an Import
If you have an import with 5 or more new properties, you may have the instinct to create those properties in settings before starting the import.

That will work fine, but you can save a lot of time on a task like this by creating the properties from within the import dialogue.

🔄 Try

Something small to test or improve this week.

Try : The Round Robin Workflow Action
While my example below shows contacts, this action works on any object, and ANY of multiple ownership user properties. As shown on the right, you can select a group of users or a team from within Hubspot.

This will not be random, but rotate evenly through the selected group of people, as records pass through the workflow.

📢 Announcement: Spotter Rebrand + Platform Move

After almost half of year of Spotter, there are some changes coming. For now, our format will remain. 1 Tip, 1 Trap, 1 Try every week. I wanted to change up the colors and fonts as I am now making my screenshots in Figma (Canva had better fonts, Figma makes templating easier).
