📢 Update: Custom Report Builder Quick Access to Report Settings

HubSpot has introduced quick access to report settings in the Custom Report Builder, giving users the same flexibility previously only available in the single object report builder. This update lets you easily adjust existing reports, think things like changing chart types, grouping dimensions, or adding properties. No need to rebuild them from scratch. Accessible via a settings icon on dashboard reports, this streamlined editing experience is now available for HubSpot Customer Platform Professional and Enterprise users.

Tip

Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.

Control Record Associations in Bulk (Now in Beta)
This is a new update to the index view functionality. You can select one or multiple records and then choose “manage associations” and this handy popup modal will allow you to select or deselect associated records for the records you selected from the list.

⚠️ Trap

Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.

Beware of “Create Date” In Imports and Integrations
If you are importing records from another platform, or setting up a 2-way sync, HubSpot’s default “Create Date” might be set to the day you first imported/synced the record.

This is well and good for some purposes, but if you are bringing in historical deal data, it can cause some major issues. I have seen accounts where thousands of closed deals had create dates AFTER their close dates. I called them “Time Traveling Deals”.

There are two ways to prevent this:
1. Sync HubSpot’s default Create Date to the Create Date from the original platform. Sometimes this isn’t possible, which is what brings me to option 2.
2. Create a new Create date property to use in filtering and reporting.

Something small to test or improve this week.

Conditional Cards on Record Views
This can be a huge game-changer for teams that need different views. Team views can be limited, and sometimes you have leadership who wants to be able to see dynamic information in a record.

Example: You need marketing and sales info for contacts in the lead, MQL, and Opportunity stages, but then you need customer success info for contacts in the customer stage.

With conditional logic cards, you can show the relevant info based on any type of logic you want.
