📢 Announcement: Inline Association Table

This update is really going to make working with associations much easier.

Instead of clicking into a record to edit or even view their associations, we now have this handy in-line list to work from. It's in private beta right now, but I’d bet it comes into public beta in the next few weeks.

Tip

Quick fix for a common HubSpot headache.

Use the Email "Heatmap" for Instant Insights

Most marketers stop at open and click rates, but those numbers only tell half the story. To see exactly where your audience’s attention is landing, use the Click Map.

The Action: Open any sent marketing email, click the Performance tab, and scroll down to "Click map." You’ll see a visual overlay of your email showing exactly which buttons, images, or text links got the most love. Use this to determine if your "secondary" CTAs are actually just distractions or if your hero image is stealing all the clicks from your button.

⚠️ Trap

Mistake to avoid before it causes chaos.

The "Accidental Merge" via Forms

Have you ever seen a contact record suddenly change its name and email to someone completely different? This is the "Accidental Merge," and it’s usually caused by a single checkbox in your HubSpot Form settings.

The Fix: By default, HubSpot uses cookies to track users. If a lead forwards your newsletter to a colleague and that colleague clicks a link and fills out a form on the same device, HubSpot may "overwrite" the original contact.

Prevent it: Go to your Form settings and ensure "Always create contact for new email address" is turned on. This prevents data corruption and ensures every new lead gets their own clean record.

🔄 Try

Something small to test or improve this week.

Build a "Scan-to-HubSpot" QR Code for Events

Stop collecting stacks of business cards at trade shows only to let them gather dust on your desk. This week, try creating a frictionless "Digital Business Card" that feeds directly into your CRM.

The Experiment:

  1. Create a simple HubSpot form with just four fields: First Name, Last Name, Email, and a hidden field for "Lead Source" (set to "Trade Show").

  2. Copy the standalone form URL and drop it into a free QR code generator.

  3. Print that QR code on the back of your lanyard or a desk sign. When you meet someone, have them scan it. They’re instantly added to your database, and you can even trigger an automated "Nice to meet you!" email to hit their inbox before you’ve even finished shaking hands.
