Happy New Year!

New Year, New Newsletter Template!

I wanted to take this first issue to go over some of the biggest product Updates HubSpot shipped in 2025.

To be clear, HubSpot shipped a lot of updates in 2025.

Some were cosmetic. Some were incremental. And a few genuinely changed how teams build, automate, and trust their portals.

This list is far from comprehensive. These are just a few of my favorites that are already making life easier.

CRM & Data Model Updates

Synced Properties (Expanded & Stabilized)

Why it mattered in 2025:

Synced properties quietly replaced an entire category of fragile workflows.

Instead of copying values with “if known, then copy” logic, synced properties now offer a more reliable, settings-level way to mirror data:

  • Across objects

  • Across pipelines

  • Within the same object

This update fundamentally improved data consistency and reduced admin maintenance. If you’re still relying on workflows to keep properties in sync, this was one of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades of the year.

Property Change Events

Why it mattered in 2025:

For years, detecting when a property changed required awkward workflow logic.

Property Change Events turned property updates into first-class events that can be used across:

  • Workflows

  • Reporting

  • Journeys

  • Automation logic

This simplified countless automations and made change-based logic cleaner, faster, and more transparent. One of the most underrated but powerful platform updates this year.

Marketing & Email

Email Properties & Campaign History Insights

Why it mattered in 2025:

Marketing emails stopped being just a scrolling list.

With Email Properties, teams can now tag emails by:

  • Campaign type

  • Audience

  • Theme

  • Product line

This made historical analysis dramatically easier and turned email performance into something you can actually compare and learn from — without exporting to spreadsheets.

For marketing teams, this was one of the most practical reporting upgrades of the year.

AI & Data Hygiene

Smart Properties for Classification & Filtering

Why it mattered in 2025:

Smart properties made it easier to classify and filter records automatically — especially for messy inputs like:

  • Spam tickets

  • Low-quality form submissions

  • Ambiguous contact data

Used thoughtfully, this update helped teams reduce noise without relying entirely on manual rules or brittle filters. Not flashy, but extremely useful when applied to the right problems.
